Eagles Wrap Up Bronco Invite

"With smaller numbers on the roster this fall, some of the girls are getting challenged in higher position flights then what they may play in the spring," said head coach Ryan Ray. "Earlier this weekend we did a good job of pulling off some wins, we've had a few injuries, and now it's time to get healthy and prepare for our conference individual tournament in two weeks."
In the Silver Flight Consolation doubles, senior Joanna Woo (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Vincent Massey Collegiate) and Marcela Rivero (Santa Cruz, Bolivia-Saint George) lost to Rachel Denny and Ashley Moccia of Western Michigan, 8-2.
The two Eagles then participated in singles matches. Woo lost a close first set to Stephanie LeFortune of West Viriginia, 7-5, but was unable to hold on in the second, falling 6-2. Rivero didn't have as much luck with her opponent, WMU's Denny, falling 6-0 in each set.
The Eagles will rest and train for two weeks before returning to Kalamazoo for the Mid-American Conference Fall Individual Invitational, where participants from each of the nine schools that sponsor women's tennis will compete against one another.
