Green and White collect two wins on the final day of competition

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Eastern Michigan University tennis team wrapped up play at the Gopher Invitational Sunday, Sept. 14. The Eagles went 2-1 on the final day of competition, winning a doubles and singles match.

"This was a good weekend of matches for us, we had some success and have found some things to work on in the next two weeks," said head coach Ryan Ray.

Senior Joanna Woo (Winnipeg, Manitoba-Vincent Massey Collegiate) picked up her first win of the season, defeating Kylie Adamek of LSU in two sets, 6-2, 6-1.

The freshmen duo of Karina Ahuja (New Delhi, India-Modern School) and Marcelo Rivero (Santa Cruz, Bolivia-Saint George) picked up their first doubles win, blanking Julie Bardenwerper and Brittany Templin of Gustavus-Adolphus, 8-0.

The Eagles will continue fall play, traveling to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the Bronco Invitational, Sept. 26-28.
