YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University athletics department has teamed with FOX 2-WJBK television in Detroit to help promote the University’s coaches and student-athletes as part of the "We Are Eagle Nation" campaign.
"We are happy to partner with FOX 2 to send the message of our great success and our excitement for the future of Eastern Michigan University athletics," EMU director of athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg said. "We have won 13 Mid-American Conference championships over the past two years and are confident that success will continue."
One of the major promotional efforts of the campaign will have EMU sponsoring the SkyFOX Field Trip from September through November. FOX 2’s helicopter travels across metro Detroit visiting elementary and middle schools each Thursday for a live report at 11 a.m. That segment will not only be shown live at 11 a.m. but will also be re-broadcast on the 5 p.m. FOX 2 news show.
In addition to the SkyFOX visits, there will also be several taped segments with EMU student-athletes played throughout the day from August through November on FOX 2.
The EMU student-athletes highlighted in the promotional spots are: Tyler Jones (Football and Men’s Basketball), Justin Dobbins (Men’s Basketball), Andy Schmitt (Football), Cassie Schrock (Women’s Basketball) and Jill Wolosiansky (Women’s Volleyball).
