WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth place with Illinois Sunday afternoon, April 20, here at the Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue University. The Green and White recorded a 54-hole mark of 860 (291-283-286) while Mid-American Conference rival Kent State ran away with the team title with a score of 842 on the par 72, 7,079 yard Kampen Course.

The Green and White recorded a 54-hole mark of 860 (291-283-286) while Mid-American Conference rival Kent State ran away with the team title with a score of 842 on the par 72, 7,079 yard Kampen Course.
Sophomore Marty Jeppesen (Saline, Mich.-Saline) continued to his low scoring spring campaign, posting a one-under 215 (74-71-70) en route to a 13th place finish. The two-day total is a career-best for the second-year player, besting his previous low of 224 (78-73-73) at the Ron Smith Invitational, Feb. 29-March 2. Additionally, Jeppesen’s final round 70 was a new 18-hole record.
Junior Christopher Ross (Dundas, Ontario-Parkside) turned in a final round 69 to finish with a 216 (77-70-69) for 17th place. Senior Graham Hill (Brights Grove, Ontario-Northern Collegiate (Indiana (Pa.)) struggled on the Sunday, carding an 80 for a 219 (69-70-80) for 32nd. Redshirt freshman Brad Larente (Cambridge, Ontario-Hespeler Secondary) and senior Peter Sauerbrei (Kingston, Ontario-Kingston Collegiate) rounded out the lineup with a 220 (75-72-73) and a 222 (73-75-74), respectively.
