Eagles Conclude Palisades Classic With 12th-Place Finish

Redshirt freshman Brad Larente ties for 39th with a 224
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team concluded the Palisades Collegiate Classic with a tie for 12th place on the par-72, 6,797-yard Palisades Country Club layout. The Eagles posted a 298 in the final round to wind up with a score of 898 for the tournament, tied with the University of Nebraska.
Redshirt freshman Brad Larente (Cambridge, Ontario-Hespeler Secondary) paced the attack for the Green and White with a 224 (77-73-74). Larente, who tied for 39th place, was the lowest scoring EMU player for the second time this season. Additionally, his 224 is the fifth best 54-hole total in during his rookie campaign.
Senior Graham Hill (Brights Grove, Ontario-Northern Collegiate (Indiana (Pa.)) and junior Christopher Ross (Dundas, Ontario-Parkside) each notched 255s for a tie for 42nd place. Sophomore Mary Jeppesen (Saline, Mich.-Saline) posted a 229 (76-74-79) for a 58th place tie while freshman Nick Carbary (Kalamazoo, Mich.-Mattawan) carded a 231 (80-76-75) in his first collegiate action.
Charlotte won its own tournament with an 856 team score. Vincent Nadeau of Virginia Commonwealth won the individual title with a score of 206.
Eastern Michigan returns to action this weekend, April 19-20, at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The EMU and Purdue will be joined by 12 other teams at the event, which begins Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shot gun start.
