Graham Hill and Brad Larente finish tied for 18th with a 225
MOBILE, Ala. – Senior Graham Hill (Brights Grove, Ontario-Northern Collegiate (Indiana (Pa.)) and redshirt freshman Brad Larente (Cambridge, Ontario-Hespeler Secondary) record a pair of 225s to finish in a tie for 18th place here at the University of South Alabama Mobile Bay Intercollegiate at the par 72, 6,807 yard Heron Lakes Country Club, March 24-25. Louisville's Adam Rainaud took home medalist honors with a one-under 215 (74-72-69).
As a team, Eastern Michigan University finished seventh place with a two-day team score of 909 (309-304-296). The Louisville Cardinals also claimed the tournament title carding with a 873 (290-295-288), defeating second-place Chattanooga by four strokes.
Hill, who was tied for 14th place after the tournament's opening rounds, notched a 75 on the final day to close out the tournament with a 225 (76-74-75). Larente was on fire during during the final round, moving up 23 spots after equalling the lowest round of the tournament with a three-under par 69. The round of 69 is the second lowest single-round of his career and is tied for the third lowest round by an EMU golfer in 2007-08.
Other EMU scores included junior Christopher Ross (Dundas, Ontario-Parkside) with a 231 (79-77-75). Sophomore Brandon Lemons (Portage, Mich.-Portage Central) and sophomore Marty Jeppesen (Saline, Mich.-Saline) rounded out the lineup with a pair of 233s.
Head coach Bruce Cunningham's Eagles will take a few weeks off before returning to action at the Palisades Golf Classic in Charlotte, N.C., April 14-15.
