Woo and Westerink Combine For Doubles Win at Regional

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis senior Joanna Woo (Winnipeg, Manitoba-Vincent Massey Collegiate) and freshman Miriam Westerink (Rheden, The Netherlands-Thomas a Kempis) teamed up in doubles at the 2008 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Friday, Oct. 24, at the Michigan State University Indoor Tennis Facility.
The duo faced Ingrid Ballus and Yuki Kobayaski of IPFW in the first round of doubles action, defeating pair by an 8-6 score. second round action, Woo and Westerink fell by a score of 8-4 to Cami Hubbs and Kristina Keesey of Ohio State University.
With today's action complete, the Eagles have wrapped up fall play and will take the next few months for training to open up regular season play Jan. 17, at home against Wright State.
