Eagles Pick Up Two More Wins at MAC Invite

KALAMAZOO, Mich.-The Eastern Michigan University tennis team wrapped up play at the 2008 Mid-American Conference Fall Invitational Sunday, Oct. 12, here at Sorensen Court.
The Eagles added two more victories to their tally on the third and final day of the invitational, both coming from newcomers. Miriam Westerink (Rheden, The Netherlands-Thomas a Kempis) had the best finish for the Green and White, winning the fifth place match in the first singles flight, defeating Cara Wald of Miami in two sets, 6-3, 6-0. Marcela Rivero (Santa Cruz, Bolivia-Saint George) won her seventh place match in the fifth flight of singles, losing just three games on her way to beating Kimberly Robbins of Ball State. 6-2, 6-1.
Eastern will wrap up fall play in two weeks at the Midwest Regional Championship in Lansing, Mich., beginning Oct. 28.
