Two Eagles Earn Academic All-MAC Football Honors

Ken Bohnet and Andy Schmitt named to the 2007 squad
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two members of the Eastern Michigan University football team have earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors for the 2007 season in voting by the league’s faculty representatives.
Senior tight end Ken Bohnet (Grand Ledge, Mich.-Grand Ledge) and redshirt sophomore quarterback Andy Schmitt (St. Johns, Mich.-St. Johns) were named to the 2007 Academic All-MAC team.
Bohnet put the finishing touches on a solid EMU football career by playing in all 12 games in 2007 and starting eight times. He was a valuable addition on the offense and recorded 22 receptions for 158 yards and three touchdowns. Bohnet has a 3.88 GPA as an accounting major.
Schmitt finished the 2007 season with 164 completions on 255 attempts for 1,613 yards and 14 touchdown passes. He also rushed 67 times for 279 yards and six touchdowns. Schmitt has a 3.35 GPA as a secondary education-mathematics major.
