Women's Swimming Downs Ball State

Muncie, Ind. -- The Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team defeated Ball State, 158.5-141.5, Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13, in Mid-American Conference action here at the Lewellen Aquatic Center. 2006 MAC Swimmer of the Year, Madeleine Pilchard paced the Eagle attack with three individual victories and swam anchor for a winning relay team.
Pilchard won the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle races and joined Catherine Lee Ha, Steph Cholyk and Alissa Ricard to make up the winning 400 freestyle relay team. Ashley Durand (100 and 200 breaststroke) and Becky Renkola (one and three-meter diving) were also dual individual event winnings for EMU. Claire Letendre (200 butterfly) and Cholyk (50 freestyle) also clocked in top times in their races.
The Eagles (6-2, 4-1 MAC) will return to the pool Friday, Jan. 19, for a non-conference dual meet with Wayne State at 3 p.m. in Jones Natatorium.
