CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team ended its visit to the College of Charleston Invitational in impressive fashion with a 3-1 (30-18, 28-30, 30-25, 30-27) defeat of Columbia University Saturday night here at John Kresse Arena.

With the victory the Eagles evened its record at 5-5 while the Lions fell to 2-3.
Junior middle blocker Becky Reenders continued to excel, posting a career-best 25 kills to led the Eagles' attack with senior Lindsay Piccolini also reaching double figures in kills with 16. Reenders and Piccolini were particularly effective with .538 and .400 attack percentages, respectively. Reenders was named to the all-tournament team for her strong performance in EMU's three matches.
On the defensive side of the net, Piccolini blocked a team-high eight Columbia attacks with senior Ashley Cudney leading the team with 26 digs. Junior Kate Sulewski collected 49 assists and five digs in the victory en route to an all-tournament team selection.

After wrapping up the 10-match road trip, the Eagles return to Ypsilanti to open the home portion of the schedule Friday, Sept. 22, versus Mid-American Conference rival Northern Illinois University. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
