Women's Track Wraps Up 2006 Season at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Eagles close out competition Thursday
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Three Eastern Michigan University women’s track and field competitors had their NCAA dreams cut short here Thursday (June 8) at the NCAA Women’s Outdoor Championship at the A.G. Spanos Sports Complex.
The three EMU athletes, sophomore Ashley McCullough (Dayton, Ohio-Colonel White), Chrystal Dooley (Westerville, Ohio-South) and Patrice Beasley (Romulus, Mich.-Romulus), all completed their NCAA action Thursday.
McCullough advanced to Thursday’s long jump final by placing 10th in Wednesday’s (June 7) prelims with a leap of 20-feet-7.25 inches. McCullough then jumped 20-feet-6.25 in the finals for a ninth-place finish, just missing the top eight that scored in the event.
Beasley finished 28th in Thursday’s 100 meters prelim in a time of :11.92, and she did not advance to the next round.
Dooley was disqualified from further action in the 400-meter hurdles after hitting a hurdle in the prelim and not finishing the race.
