BATON ROUGE, La. -- Junior Rebecca Fuss posted an all-around score of 37.775 for a 19th place finish in her NCAA Central Regional debut Friday night here at the Maravich Center on the campus of Louisiana State University.
Fuss, the lone Eagle gymnast to qualify for the regional, turned in her best work of the evening on the bars and floor with a pair of 9.650s. She also recorded a 9.250 on the vault and a 9.225 on the beam. Her 9.650 on the bars put her in a tie for 26th, while the beam and floor marks were good for 36th place. On the vault, Fuss finished in 38th place.
Oklahoma (196.375) and LSU (195.825) were one and two, respectively, while Penn State (194.900), Kentucky (194.075), Michigan State (193.575) and Ohio State (193.000) round out the rest of the field.
The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships in Corvallis, Ore., April 20, hosted by Oregon State University.
