Eagles claim Novice 4 race

 RALIEGH, N.C. – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team competed today at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, Saturday, an eight team event hosted by the University of North Carolina and Duke University. The Eagles’ Novice four team turned in the top time of 8:02.3 beating runner-up Tulsa by over 29 seconds.

EMU will be in action again next week when it travels to Buffalo for the Third-Annual meeting for the Harvey Cup, April 15 at 9 a.m. EMU and UB are the only schools in the Mid-American Conference that sponsor women’s rowing as a varsity sport. The Harvey Cup is awarded to the winner of the Varsity 8 race each year. The Eagles have won the past two season.
