Women's Swimming Finishes Second at EMU Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich.-- For the four consecutive season the Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving finished as the runner-up to Michigan in the EMU Invitational Saturday night here at Jones Natatorium. The Eagles finished with 879 points.

Junior Madeleine Pilchard continued to excel for the Eagles, yesterday she took home the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.59. Today, she managed a trio of second place finishes including the 200 freestyle (1:49.51), the 500 freestyle (4:54.12) and was a part of the runner-up 800 freesstyle relay team (1:49.51)

The group of Catherine Lee Ha, Steph Cholyk, Jennifer Miller and Pichard won the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:35.07.

On the diving side of things, sophomore Becky Renkola claimed the 3-meter title with a final score of 302.75. Teammate Sarah Chrzanowski took home second place with a total of 282.25.

The Eagles will take the next few weeks off for finals and training before resuming the season Jan. 12, when IUPUI invades Jones Natatorium at 6 p.m.
