Swimming Rockets Past Toledo

Eagles remain unbeaten
YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team defeated Toledo, 168-130, in a Mid-American Conference dual meet at the Student Recreation Center in Toledo, Ohio. With the win the Eagles remain perfect at 3-0 overall and 3-0 in league action, while the Rockets fall to 3-2 and 1-2 in the MAC.
EMU won nine of the meet’s 16 events including the first three. Claire Letendre and Chontelle Lonsdale each won two individual events for the Eagles. Letendre claimed the top spot in the 1650-yard freestyle and 200-yard fly, while Lonsdale 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM.
Steph Cholyk (200-yard freestyle), Sarah Chrzanowski (one-meter dive), Hannah Burandt (500-yard freestyle), Becky Renkola (three-meter dive) and the 400-yard medley relay team of Madeleine Pilchard, Sheila Carson, Burandt and Catherine Lee Ha all posted victories.
The Eagles will be in action again Friday, Nov. 10, for a non-conference meet with Oakland and Princeton. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m. in Rochester, Mich.
