TOLEDO, Ohio – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team ended the regular season on a down note, with a 3-1 setback (30-27, 22-30, 26-30, 22-30) to the University of Toledo Saturday afternoon here at John F. Savage Hall. The Eagles, seeded eighth in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament, will host No. 9 Kent State Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the first round at the EMU Convocation Center.

The loss dropped the Eagles’ record to 12-16 overall and 6-10 in the Mid-American Conference while the Rockets improved to 9-20 overall and 6-10 in the MAC.

The Eagles were led by the trio of senior Lindsay Piccolini, junior Becky Reenders and freshman Victoria Randolph. Piccolini tallied a team-high 14 kills and five block, Randoplh tallied 12 kills and eight digs and Reenders added 11 kills and eight block assists. Senior libero Ashley Cudney had a team-best 25 digs and junior setter Kate Sulewski finished with 43 assists, seven digs and five kills.

Toledo had four players reach double figure in kills, led by Shannon Strachan with 21 kills and a .528 attack percentage. Kate Bean recorded 16 kills, Lora Sundburg had 15 kills and 18 digs and Sarah Kreher chalked up 11.

This match concluded the 2006 regular season for the Eagles. The Eagles, seeded eighth in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament, will host No. 9 Kent State Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the first round at the EMU Convocation Center.
