Piccolini Earns MAC West Honor

Senior earns second career conference accolade
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eastern Michigan University senior middle blocker Lindsay Piccolini (St. Clairsville, Ohio-St. Clairsville) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Volleyball Player of the Week, Oct. 23. This marks Piccolini’s second career MAC weekly award.
Piccolini powered the attack, as the Eagles ended a nine-match losing skid with a pair of three-set victories over Toledo (Oct. 15) and Ball State (Oct. 21). The St Clairsville, Ohio native saw action in all six games, tallying 36 kills, 16 blocks (2 solo, 14 assists), two digs and a service ace for a total of 46.0 points. For the week, Piccolini averaged 6.0 kills, 2.67 blocks per game and a .333 attack percentage.
Against Toledo, Piccolini tallied a match-best 17 kills and .438 attack percentage to go along with nine total blocks. She followed it up with a 19 kill and seven block performance versus rival Ball State.
With the Mid-American Conference Volleyball Tournament rapidly approaching, head coach Kim Berrington's crew will be hitting the court often during the next two weeks with five matches. The Eagles will hit the road for three against Oakland (Oct. 24), Buffalo (Oct. 27) and Akron (Oct. 28), before returning to Ypsilanti to host Central Michigan (Nov. 2) and Kent State (Nov. 4).
