YPSILANTI, Mich. –
The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team continues to struggle, falling 3-0 (28-30, 33-35,27-30) to the hands of Mid-American Conference foe Miami here at the Convocation Center. The loss dropped the Eagles’ record to 5-13 overall and 0-7 in the league while the RedHawks improved to 8-12 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

The Eagles were led by junior Becky Reenders, who tallied 12 kills and a .194 attack percentage. Senior Lindsay Piccolini added 11 kills and four block assists and junior Katie Bates posted seven kills. Coming off her record setting performance, senior libero Ashley Cudney had a game-high 23 digs. Junior setter Kate Sulewski finished with 37 assists, five kills and four digs.

Miami had two players reach double figures in kills, led by Emily Schroeder with a game-best 16 and Carli Reihman with 13. Melissa Zenz added 16 digs and Andrea Atteberry tallied 49 assists.

EMU continues its four-match homestand Sunday, Oct. 15, with a MAC cross-divisional showdown with East Division leader Bowling Green State University. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
