Played baseball and basketball for Michigan State Normal... Went on to play professional baseball as a pitcher with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals... Coached at Highland Park H.S. after his pro career and his 1946 team won the city championship... Returned to EMU in 1947 to coach baseball and basketball... Coached the men's basketball team for six years... Also served as the head baseball coach from 1947-65.
