Baseball: Graduated Cum Laude in 2008...Three-year letter winner for the EMU Baseball Team from 2006-08...In 2007, he saved 14 games for EMU, and earned All-Mid-American Conference Second Team honors and repeated this conference recognition in 2008...Tied for fifth in NCAA Division I in saves for the 2007 season, setting the EMU single-season record in the process...Earned Academic All-MAC in 2008...Graduated from EMU after his junior year, forgoing his final year of college eligibility...Ranked 18th in career ERA at 4.33...Played for the USA national baseball team in the 2011 Baseball World Cup and 2011 Pan American Games, winning the silver medal...Signed with the Angels as a free agent, and pitched in Minor League Baseball through 2013, when he made his MLB debut...Was named the American League (AL) Rookie of the Month and Pitcher of the Month in August 2014, and finished second in AL Rookie of the Year Award voting after the season...Has pitched in parts of nine big-league seasons for the Los Angeles Angels, Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins...Professionally in the MLB, he had a 46-41 win-loss record, 4.24 ERA, and 580 strikeouts.
