Spent 24 years as the men's gymnastics coach at EMU... During his coaching tenure he led Eastern to six National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship finishes... Led the 1969-70 EMU team to a runner-up finish at the NAIA nationals... His 1971-72 EMU team was 11th in the NCAA-College Division nationals... Helped from the Great Lakes Gymnastics League and led Eastern to League titles in 1971, 1972 and 1973 and placed second in 1978 and 1979... Developed five all-around champions and 16 individual champions in the league... Coached 14 All-Americans during his tenure... Was instrumental in forming the state of Michigan Boys' Gymnastics League... Was a past chairman of the NAIA Rules Committee and was active in meet judging internationally.
