Graduated in 1991 and 1992...One of the most outstanding middle distance runners in EMU men's track history...Earned All-American honors four times in his career...Finished third in the 800-meter run at the 1988 NCAA National Championship and was second in the NCAA's in 1990 and 1991...Broke the NCAA record in the 800 meters in 1990 but finished second (1:46.84), a time that still stands as the EMU varsity record...Turned in the best time in the U.S. in 1990 as a member of the EMU 3,200-meter relay team (4 x 800 meters, contributing a 1:46.10 anchor leg...Toured Europe as a member of the United States team that won the 800 meters at the USA-Great Britain dual meet...Also advanced to compete as a finalist in the 1992 and 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials...Won six individual Mid-American Conference outdoor titles, winning the 800-meter championship in 1988 (1:49.60), 1989 (1:50.46), and 1990 (1:49.99) and capturing the 1500-meter title three times: 1989 (3:46.96), 1990 (3:49.63), and 1991 (3:51.65)...Finished second in the 1991 MAC Cross Country Championships...Also won 11 individual indoor and outdoor Central Collegiate Conference titles...After graduating became the 124th person to break a sub 4:00 mile with a best of 3:57.43.
