Standout basketball and baseball player for Eastern... Led the 1947-48 basketball team in scoring... Was the top assist man on the basketball team his final three seasons... Captain of the 1949-50 basketball team... Selected by eight schools for their All-Opponent teams... Went on to coach, teach, and serve as the athletic director at Melvindale High School for 36 years... Also became a top high school football official... Melvindale named its high school gymnasium in his honor... Inducted into the Michigan High School Coaches' Hall of Fame in 1986.
