Outstanding defensive lineman for the EMU football team from 1972-74... Recorded 237 tackles, including 18-for-104 yards in losses, during his career... Co-captain of the 1974 team... Signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers, from 1978-81... Played on three Super Bowl championship teams... Started in Super Bowl XIII and XIV... Named "Defensive Player of the Game" in Super Bowl XIII... Retired from the Steelers in 1982 and later that year joined the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League... Helped the Michigan Panthers win the inaugural USFL Championship... Started 12 of 16 games for the Panthers in 1984 before retiring from football
