Earned four track letters and one in football... High point scorer in the hurdles, long, jump, javelin and triple jump for four years... Earned his Varsity football letter as a senior... Later became a prominent member of the Detroit Police Track and Field Team... Also coached track and basketball in Detroit... Served the City of Detroit as a police officer for 34 years before retiring as a lieutenant.
