An outstanding track athlete... Held the world record of :06.1 in the 60-yard dash in 1951... Earned All-American honors in 1951... Was an All-Star in the Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) in both the 100 and 220-yard dashes in 1950 and 1951... Ran on the 880-yard relay team to three consecutive IIAC titles... Became the head track coach at Ecorse High School in 1964 and helped them win Twin Valley Conference and state titles in 1967... Honored by the Michigan High School Coaches Association in 1968... Inducted into the Michigan Amateur Hall of Fame in 1974... AAU women's track "Coach of the year" in 1966... Went on to coach at Michigan State University.
