IVORY WESTLY HOOD..Graduated from Tolleston High School in Gary, Indiana in 1965 and received a full scholarship to play for the Eastern Michigan University football team...Was a four-year starter and earned four letters for EMU from 1966-69...Also served as a co-captain of the 1968 football team...Led the team in tackles in three of his four seasons as a starting linebacker...Named first-team Collegiate All-State and Small College honorable mention All-American in 1967...Was an NAIA District 23 first-team selection three times, in 1966, 1967 and 1968...Was drafted into the United States Army after college in 1969 and played for the Army Aschaffenburg , Germany Cardinals football team as an outside linebacker and helped lead the team to the 1969 USSAR championship against the Berlin Bears...After completing his Army career in 1971, he continued his education and earned his bachelor of science degree from the College of Education and later earned his graduate degree in 1978...Went on to coach and teach in the Willow Run School District and retired after 31 years of service.
