Outstanding track and field athlete who set or still holds 23 records... National AAU Indoor champion hurdler from 1959-64... Set a consecutive individual dual-meet winning streak of 56... Won the Gold Medal in the 110-meter hurdles at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo... Won the Bronze Medal in the 110-meter hurdles at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome... High scorer in four consecutive HAC championships while competing in the hurdles, sprints, high jump, long jump and relay events... Named to the state of Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1976... Selected to the National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1976... Competed on six United States team again the U.S.S.R.... Was the first recreation commissioner for New York City... Former executive vice president of American Airlines.
