Turned in an outstanding track career at Eastern Michigan from 1952-55... Ran on a record-setting mile relay team in 1952 that set a Drake Relays record that stood for 11 years... Set a school indoor 440-yard dash record that stood for 13 years in the 1953 Central Collegiate Conference (CCC) championship at Notre Dame... Also won the 440-yard title at the 1954 CCC championships... Ranked in the top 10 quarter milers in the world in 1953-54... Set a field-house record in the 400-yard dash at Central Michigan in 1953 and was the first runner to break :51.0 in the 440-yard dash at CMU... Finished in the top three in all of his Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) meets from 1952-55... Captain of the 1955 EMU track team... President of the E-Letterwinners Club from 1980-81... Taught in middle and high school for 30 years and was a coach for 27 years.
