Men’s Swimming: Four-year letter winner for the EMU men's swim team...Three sport varsity letter winner at Roosevelt High School (now Roosevelt Hall)...Team captain for three years (1967-1969); sophomore year: tri-captain, junior year: co-captain, senior year: captain...Earned NAIA All-American honors three times (1967-1969)...Former record holder in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and the 200- and 400-yard medley relay team...Member of the 1966-67 team, finishing third at the NAIA National Championship...Helped lead the men's team to the NAIA National Championship in both 1967-68 and 1968-69...In 1967, was among the first NAIA All-American swimmers at EMU as a member of the 400-yard medley relay team...Helped led the team to a four-year record of 42-14...In 1969, was a member of the NAIA National Champion 400-yard medley relay team, setting a new NAIA National Record and EMU Record...In 1969, set a NAIA National Record and EMU Record in the 200-yard breaststroke as well as a new EMU Record in the 100-yard breaststroke...In 1970, was a member of the NAIA National Championship Team as an Assistant Coach under EMU Hall of Fame Coach, Mike Jones...After graduating, spent 26 years in law enforcement, retiring from the Michigan State Police in 2001. Represented the Michigan State Police at several state and international Police & Fire Olympics, winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in swimming competitions...Also a member of the EMU Arm of Honor Fraternity.
