Served as head coach of the Eastern Michigan University football team for seven seasons (1967-73) and had a 45-20-3 record (.684), the best winning percentage by any coach in EMU history...Led the team to seven consecutive winning seasons...Also produced the longest unbeaten streak in EMU history at 13 games during the 1970 and 1971 seasons...Led the '71 squad to a 7-0-2 record which included EMU's first-ever post-season bowl game, the Pioneer Bowl, and the team earned a No. 1 national ranking in the NCAA-College Division...Coached six EMU players who earned All-American honors...Went on to coach the Detroit Wheels of the World Football League.
