Charles Hanneman earned three letters each in football and basketball and captained the 1935-36 basketball team. Hanneman was named to the second team All-American squad picked by the New York Sun. He went on to become a two-way end for the Detroit Lions and was named to the second team All-Pro squad in 1940. He also was the Lions’ captain that year. Hanneman was elected to EMU’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1977.
