Served as the director of the Michigan High School Athletic Association for 32 years... Helped develop the state of Michigan high school basketball, track, swimming championships... Served on the NCAA Swimming Rules Committee from 1935 until 1960... Was a professor at several major universities, including Michigan, Wisconsin, Southern California and Oregon... Authored and coauthored several textbooks on the administration of physical education and athletic programs... Received the Helms Athletic Foundation National Award in 1968... Served one term as the vice president of the American Association of Health, Physical Education and Recreation state organization... Received the Michigan Honor Award in 1960.
