Andy Vanyo lettered at Eastern Michigan for four seasons and was named to Walter Camp’s All-American Team as a second team selection. In addition, Vanyo was selected by Knute Rockne as a member of his Midwest All-Star team. He played for Illinois coach Bob Zuppke in the 1930 Midwest-Southwest All-Star game on New Year’s Day in Dallas, Texas. Vanyo was elected to EMU’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1978.
