The Chippewa Club, located across from the Gervin GameAbove Center on Hewitt Road and managed as a private facility independent of Eastern Michigan University, serves as the home for EMU’s women’s tennis team while providing year-round tennis opportunities for members and the surrounding community. The facility features six indoor tennis courts and two racquetball courts, all supported by a team of full-time tennis professionals who offer lessons, leagues, and skill development programs for juniors and adults. Players have access to air-conditioned locker rooms, racquet stringing services, and a wide-screen television and entertainment room for relaxation between matches. Outdoors, the Chippewa Club offers eight hard courts, four Championship Hydrocourt clay courts, and two practice walls, providing a total of 18 courts available throughout the summer season. The combination of indoor and outdoor courts enables continuous training and competitive play in all weather, making Chippewa Club a premier destination for tennis development, team practice, recreational play, and community engagement.
