EMU Volleyball Selected Sixth in MAC West Preseason Poll

Bowling Green predicted 2023 MAC Tournament Champions
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University volleyball program was picked to finish sixth in the West Division in a vote by the Mid-American Conference's 12 head coaches, the league announced this morning, Aug. 24. The Eagles received 13 points in the preseason poll.
Defending MAC Tournament champion Bowling Green State University (61 points) was chosen to take the East Division's regular season title with 11 first place votes, and had six predicted tournament champion votes-the most of any school. Predicted to be the West Division's regular season champion, also with 11 first place votes, and five predicted tournament champion votes was Ball State University (61 points). The only remaining school to receive any predicted tournament champion votes was Western Michigan University with one.
Rounding out the East Division in order of predicted finishes following the Falcons is Ohio University (50 points) in second, the University at Buffalo (42 points) in third, Kent State University (28 points) following in fourth, Miami University (18 points) in fifth and rounding out the East is the University of Akron (17 points) in sixth.
Following behind the Cardinals in the West Division is Western Michigan (43 points), Central Michigan University (41 points), the University of Toledo (38 points), Northern Illinois University (20 points), and Eastern Michigan (13 points).
Seven of the 12 MAC members placed one or more student-athletes on the Preseason All-MAC Teams. A full list of honorees is provided below.
The Eagles will officially begin their 2023 campaign when the team treks to Peoria, Ill., to participate in the CEFCU Invitational hosted by Bradley University, Friday-Saturday, Aug. 25-26, inside the Renaissance Coliseum. EMU is slated to square off with Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in this year's lid-lifter. The contest against the Cougars will take place Friday at 10 a.m. CT, with a matchup against IUPUI following at 3 p.m. CT. EMU will battle the host Braves, Saturday, Aug. 26 to close out the tournament. That contest is slated for a 1 p.m. CT start.
