Robinson tallies MAC-leading seventh assist
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Freshman Olivia Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) scored in the 64th minute as the Eastern Michigan University soccer team was topped, 2-1, by University of Akron Thursday, Oct. 19, at a rain-soaked Scicluna Field.
How It Happened
Redshirt freshman Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) made four saves in the opening 45 minutes as the Eagles were out-shot in the first half, 11-5.
Akron scored in the 50th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
In the 64th minute, Sipsock scored the equalizer on a header directly off a corner kick taken by freshman Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich./Lamphere), who recorded her league-leading seventh assist of the year.
Akron netted the game-winner in the 86th minute.
The Zips held a 21-9 advantage in shots while Eastern owned a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

» Eastern moved to 1-10-6 (1-6-2 MAC) on the year while Akron moved to 3-12-1 (1-7-1 MAC).
» Holland, who finished with seven saves, recorded her sixth match with six-plus saves this season.
» Sipsock scored her fifth goal of the season, joining junior Meagan Lukowksi (Bay City, Mich./Bay City) as Eagles with five goals in 2023.
» Robinson is the first Eagle to record seven assists in a season since Angela Vultaggio (eight), Stephanie Clarke (seven), and Martha Stevens (seven) all tallied seven-plus in 2013.
» Robinson (13) and Sipsock (12) have combined for 25 of the team's 48 points this season.
» Junior Chloe Rajewski (Midland, Mich./Midland) made her second-consecutive start after not previously starting this season. Rajewski has eight career starts.
