Satler Brings Home MAC Specialist of the Week

The Eagles claim back-to-back Specialist of the Week honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University junior gymnast Caitlin Satler (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) again earned Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week honors, the league office announced today, Feb. 2. This the second time she has been honored in her career, as well as the second-consecutive SOTW honor for the Green and White this season. Senior Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) received the honor, Jan. 26, for her performance on bars. 

Satler scored the second 9.900 of her career on beam, Jan. 31, at Kent State. Matching her career-high in the event, the junior also tied for first place. The Orland Park, Ill. native also competed on floor, scoring 9.825, which tied for fourth. With her her score on beam, the specialist currently sits third in the MAC on the apparatus and 45th in the nation.

The Green and White return home to host the Eagle Invitational as Western Michigan, Kent State, and Ball State come to Ypsilanti for a quad meet, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m. Watch on ESPN3 where Tom Helmer and Ashlee Buhler will bring you all the action.
