YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team returns home to the Convocation Center, where it will open a three-game, non-conference homestand against Southeast Missouri State University, Tuesday, Nov. 19. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Ryan Wooley poviding the play-by-play and Chad Bush offering analysis. Fans can also follow live stats at EMUEagles.com/livestats, or get live updates from the team's Twitter, @EMUWBB

OPENING HOT AT HOME: A win over Southeast Missouri would give Eastern an unblemished 2-0 record at home to start the 2019-20 campaign. EMU took care of Olivet College, 95-38, in its first home game, Nov. 8.
A win would cement a 2-0 start in Ypsilanti for the third consecutive year. Last season, EMU started 5-0 at home before falling on its home court.

WELCOME BACK, JUANITA: After missing all-but three games a season ago due to injury, redshirt sophomore Juanita Augosto is off to a hot start in the 2019-20 campaign. She leads all Eagles with an .830 shooting percentage (5-of-6), and is averaging 4.0 points per game in just over 12 minutes per game this season.

TRIPLE-DOUBLE (DIGITS): Despite a setback, three Eagles contributed double-digit scoring efforts against Youngstown State, Nov. 16. Sophomore Jenna Annecchiarico tallied a season-best 19 points, while freshman Aaliyah Stanley had a career-best 16. Redshirt junior Corrione Cardwell pitched in 10 as well.

CONSISTENT ON THE COURT: Six different Eagles are shooting better-than 50 percent from the floor this season. Redshirt sophomore Juanita Agosto leads the way with a .830 field-goal percentage. As a team, the Eagles are shooting .440 .

ANNECCHIARICO EXPLODES: Sophomore guard Jenna Annecchiarico had a season-best outing against Youngstown State, Nov. 16. The Baldwin, N.Y. native paced the team with 19 points, her season-high, while contributing four assists in the contest. Annecchiarico is tied for the team lead with an 11.0 points per game average, and a 5.0 assists per game average.

FIRST QUARTER FRENZY: EMU put up a season-best 31 points in the first quarter against Youngstown State, Nov. 16. The team hit 12-of-17 shots from the floor, including 6-of-9 from deep, while only turning the ball over three times en route to its 17-point first quarter advantage, 31-14.
Prior to its 31-point quarter at YSU, Eastern had never scored 30-plus points in an opening quarter, dating back to 2015-16 when the NCAA switched from halves to quarters.

TRIPLE THREAT: Just 9-of-35 (25.7%) from beyond the arc through its first pair of games, EMU found its rhythm from deep against Youngstown State, Nov. 16. The Eagles shot a season-best 40 percent (10-for-25) from three against the Penguins, and better-than-doubled their season total in three pointers (nine total prior to the game).

FINDING HER STROKE: After beginning the season with a 1-of-11 (9.1%) clip from deep, freshman guard Aaliyah Stanley found her stroke against Youngstown State, Nov. 16. The Boynton Beach, Fla. native drained 4-of-7 (57.1%) shots from downtown, and recorded her first-ever game as the team's three-point leader.  Her four makes aided in tripling her season three-point percentage, which now sits at 27 percent, good for fifth on the team.

TAKING THE ROCK AWAY: After forcing 16.7 turnovers per game a season ago, Eastern looks poised to be pesky on the defensive end of the court yet again in 2019-20. EMU has forced  59 turnovers, including 25 swipes this season. Most recently, EMU stole a season-best 13 passes against Youngstown State, Nov. 16.

UTILIZING DEPTH: Depth is a term Fred Castro has consistently used to describe his 2019-20 squad. The depth of his bench has been on display thus far, as at-least nine players have seen action in every game this season. All-11 players that have been active for the game have found court time in two of the first three contests. Every player scored against Olivet, Nov. 8.

ALL-TIME VS. SOUTHEAST MISSOURI: The Eagles and Redhawks will battle for the first time in their respective histories on Tuesday night. A member of the Ohio Valley Conference, SEMO is off to a perfect 3-0 start this year. They have averaged 77.3 and 50.7 rebounds during the season-opening stretch.

ALL-TIME VS. OVC: While the Eagles and Redhawks have never clashed, EMU does have experience against the Ohio Valley Conference. In its six games against the OVC, Eastern has notched two wins, one apiece against Morehead State, and Eastern Illinois, respectively.

CLOSE CONNECTIONS: Redhawks Associate Head Coach Mike Geary is undoubtedly familiar with EMU. A return home of sorts, Geary will be back in Michigan after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Geary also served as the Head Coach at Division II Northern Michigan University. There, he complied a 370-123 record, had 12 seasons of 20 wins or better, and was twice named the GLIAC Coach of the Year.

ALL THE LEAGUES EMU WILL FACE: The Eagles will play teams hailing from eight different Division I conferences this season. In addition to its 18-game Mid-American Conference slate, EMU will face three Horizon League members, two teams from the Big Ten Conference, as well as one opponent from the Missouri Valley Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, America East Conference, American Athletic Conference, and Summit League.

ON THE HORIZON: Following its game with the Redhawks, Eastern will remain home to host Southern Illinois Saturday, Nov. 23. The game will tip off at 12 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
