EMU Reveals a Chance to Win a Free Apartment for One-Year

Eagles fans need to participate in the "Beat the BIG 10 Challenge" for a Chance to Win
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Athletics, Pakmode Media + Marketing, University Green Apartments and Flock Tag are pleased to announce the "Beat the BIG 10 Challenge" promotion. EMU will be giving away a free one-year lease to a two bedroom apartment, courtesy of University Green Apartments.
To enter, fans at the "Beat the BIG 10 Challenge" games can visit the marketing kiosk at the main entrance of the Convocation Center to pick up a Flock Tag rewards card. This rewards card can be scanned at three selected Big 10 Challenge games, giving fans one entry per game attended. Fans who attend all three games will earn two additional entries, giving fans a chance to earn up to five entries into the giveaway. The following games comprise the BIG 10 Challenge:
Women's Basketball vs. Michigan State - Thursday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m.
Men's Basketball vs. Purdue - Saturday, Dec. 8, 2 p.m.
Women's Basketball vs. Michigan - Tuesday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m.
"We are a locally owned company with several properties in Ypsilanti," said Jennifer Radziszewski, General Manager of MMC Apartments (owner of University Green Apartments). "We want to show our support to other local businesses and the local university. We believe strongly in our product and want to show that we are focused on our residents and their community. This is the third year we have partnered with EMU Athletics to give away a free apartment and every year, the look on the winner's face proves why we love this promotion."
"We've partnered with a local tech company from Ann Arbor, Flock Tag, to streamline the rewards process," added EMU Athletics Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing Tyler Jones. " We love working with local vendors and using new technologies in the sports marketing space before anyone else in the MAC, or the country for that matter, has tried this. The BIG 10 Challenge allows our fans to see some great basketball at the EMU Convocation Center, and the apartment gives them a reason not to miss any of these great games."
The winner will be announced at the women's basketball game Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The lucky contestant will win a one-year lease with all expenses paid (minus gas and electric bills) to a 870 square foot, two bedroom apartment that includes an in-unit washer and dryer along with free WiFi.
The winner must meet minimum UGA application qualifications and is subject to a credit and background check.
Fans will have three separate occasions to enter the giveaway, simply by attending the home basketball games below:
Women's Basketball vs. MSU on 11/15
Men's Basketball vs. Purdue on 12/8
Women's Basketball vs. U of M on 12/11
Fans will receive a Flock Tag rewards card that can be scanned at any of the thre games listed above.
- Each scan on the card will result in one (1) entry into the apartment giveaway.
- Fans who attend and scan their card at all three (3) games will receive 2 bonus entries as well.
- The maximum amount of entries cannot exceed five entries.
- Finalists will be selected on Dec. 11 and announced during the first half of the women's basketball game vs. Michigan.
- Must be 18 years or older to participate and must be present to win.
