Tennis Signs Two from Sweden

First Recruits for First-Year Head Coach
YPSILANTI, Mich.- Eastern Michigan University women's tennis has recieved letters of intent from two of the top nationally ranked players in Sweden first-year head coach Ryan Ray announced today.
Sandra Wikstrom (Lodose, Sweden) and Aleksandra Stankovic (Stockholm, Sweden) signed letters of intent earlier this week to become part of the Eagles tennis team next fall. Wikstrom and Stankovic have both enjoyed success nationally in Sweden, with Wikstrom climbing as high as sixth in the junior rankings and Stankovic as high as eighth.
"Sandra and Aleksandra are two very accomplished tennis players that will help our program reach new levels in the years to come," said Ray. "I am not only impressed with their tennis abilities, but also their character and desire to be champions. I expect them to have very succesful collegiate careers as Eastern Michigan Eagles."
The Eagles have the sixth seed in this weekend's Mid-American Conference championship and will be in action Friday, April 27, against host Toledo in first-round action. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
