Outstanding two-sport athlete at EMU... Earned four letters each in football and baseball for EMU... Named first-team All-Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) in football in 1954... Played four seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league baseball system... Turned to coaching and worked as an assistant football coach at the college and professional level... Returned to EMU as an assistant football coach from 1968-70... Also coached in college at the University of Colorado, California, Minnesota, Wichita State and Kansas... Coached for professional football teams in the USFL and the NFL.
