Remarkable football player and track athlete for EMU from 1954-58... Named Most Valuable Player in the Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) as a senior in 1957... Led EMU in total defense, receiving and rushing in both his junior and senior season... Set the EMU single-season scoring record in football with 90 points in 1957... Captain of the track team and won the IIAC 440-yard dash for three consecutive years in outdoor track... Became the chairman and CEA of Mitchellace, Inc., the exclusive supplier of shoelaces in the NFL and Major League Baseball.
