ERIK HENRIKSEN...Graduated in 1983 while earning a 3.96 GPA with majors in Bio-Chemistry and German...Was an All-Mid-American Conference performer in both men's track and field and men's cross country...Was named an NCAA All-American in track and field...Ran a 1:48.01 in the 800m, still 7th on the all-time EMU list...Also ran a 3:42.88 time in the 1500m, holding the sixth spot on the all-time list...Competed on a 4x800m relay team that broke the NCAA indoor record, clocking 7:21.22 at the University of Michigan in the 1983 season...Was a member of the outdoor varsity record-holding 4x800m outdoor relay team in a time of 7:15.39 and also ran on the distance medley relay team that set a varsity record of  9:35.88...At the 1983 MAC outdoor track and field championship meet at Bowling Green, future Olympian Earl Jones, Erik, and Steve Reighard went 1-2-3 in the 1500 meters, with all three breaking MAC, EMU, stadium and Michigan Intercollegiate records as well as automatically qualifying for the NCAA championships, leading EMU to the team title...Was a 1983 USA Today Academic All-American and a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Fellowship...Currently a professor of physiology at the University of Arizona.
