EMU had eight performances serve as personal-bests
TOLEDO, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team concluded its fantastic regular season at the Toledo Invitational Friday, May 4 in Toledo, Ohio.
The last tune up before the postseason had eight performances serve as personal-records.
Of the personal-record setting performances, senior Allyson Goff (White Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) had one of her own. Goff had an impressive individual performance in the long jump, where she posted a distance of 5.99m en route to capturing first place.
Along with Goff, sophomore Kristine Bourg (Shorewood, Ill.-Joliet West) also took home an event title of her own while setting a personal record. Bourg competed strong in the javelin, reaching a personal-record distance of 43.32m to take home gold and move up to fifth all-time in EMU's laurels.
Freshmen Michaela Nelms (Rocky Mount, N.C.-Nash Central) and Kadian Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica) continue to show progression throughout their rookie campaigns. Nelms posted a personal-best 200m time of 23.75 to finish second, while Clarke marked another personal-record in the hammer throw with a distance of 46.48m.
With that, the outdoor regular season comes to a close. Next weekend, Thursday-Saturday, May 10-12, the Eagles will get their postseason started at the Mid-American Conference Championships, held in Buffalo, N.Y.
