Eastern will take on No. 4 Bowling Green Friday, April 27 at 10 a.m.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University tennis team will play in the Mid-American Conference Women's Tennis Championships held at Ball State University for the first time since the 2015 season, the team found out Sunday, April 22.

The Eagles were in wait-and-see mode Sunday, as their postseason fate depended on the outcome of two other MAC matches. As it turned out, EMU, Ball State, and Akron each finished with 3-5 MAC records for a three-way tie of fifth place.  In a three-way tiebreaker, Eastern Michigan (2-0), Ball State (1-1) and Akron (0-2) had the following records among the tied teams, therefore Eastern Michigan gets the No. 5 seed and Ball State the No. 6 seed.

Eastern opens championship weekend with the 10 a.m. contest Friday, April 27 against No. 4 seed Bowling Green State University. The winner of the first round match will go on to take on No. 1 seed Buffalo Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m.
