YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The annual spring game for the Eastern Michigan University football team is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, inside "The Factory" at Rynearson Stadium. The offense and defense will take the field, earning points in a specialized scoring system. The event is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m.
Admission is free and gates open at 2 p.m. This will be EMU fans' first chance to get a peek at the Eagles' improvements under the direction of fifth-year Head Coach Chris Creighton.
In addition to the spring game, EMU Athletics is hosting an adidas apparel sale. Fans who want to purchase select official EMU gear will have the chance to do so at a discounted rate during the spring game. EMU will be offering surplus football jerseys, baseball jerseys, footwear, and other miscellaneous items at the sale. All sales are final and only cash or check will be accepted.
Season tickets will also be on sale in anticipation for the fall, as fans will be able to have the opportunity to pick their seat inside the stadium. The "fan-friendly" schedule features five Saturday contests and one Friday tilt at Rynearson Stadium.
Season ticket holders who have already purchased their seats for the 2018 season will enjoy multiple benefits including early entry into the adidas apparel sale prior to the general public at 1 p.m., a maximum of two complimentary EMU football jerseys per account, and will also have opportunities to be entered into special on-field promotions during the game.
The team will also be hosting a football alumni flag football game on the gray turf inside the stadium. Check-in will begin at 12:15 p.m. with the 45-minute game to follow at 1 p.m. Football alumni should e-mail dsaccon1@emich.edu in order to participate.
Touchdown Terrace, Follett team store, and the kids play zone presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will also be setup for fans to enjoy. Postgame, EMU student-athletes will be available for autographs on a commemorative spring game poster.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and make it a full day of EMU Athletics. The softball team hosts Miami University in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Varsity Field, while the baseball team tangles with Ball State University at 5 p.m. inside Oestrike Stadium. Admission is free to all events.
Eastern Michigan continues to offer the Ultimate Fan Season Ticket Plan for just $150 ($25 per game). The premiere plan includes a padded chairback seat midfield in section 105. The Ultimate Fan section has been improved with wider seats and new armrests. For the first time in 2018, additional chairback seats will be available in sections 104-109 for $120 ($20 per game).
Fans can also order reserved non-chairback season tickets for $90 ($15 per game), EMU faculty and staff can secure non-chairback season tickets for $60 ($10 per game), and Young Alumni (35-and-under) can purchase season tickets for only $50 ($8.33 per game).
New for 2018 are two options for a Family 4 Pack season ticket. The reserved package for $198 is located in section 109 and includes four tickets to every home contest. A general admission Family 4 Pack for sections 110-114 is also available for $156.
