Guilleux Paces Eagles on Day One of 3M Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) - After day one of play at the 3M Augusta Invitational, the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team sits in 12th-place after posting a 310 on the par 72, 6,248-yard Forest Hills Golf Club course.
Junior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) carded a 73, coming in two-over par on the day to lead the Green and White. Guilleux's round one score comes in seven stroke off the pace set by tournament leader, Jillian Hollis (Georgia). Hollis torched the field with a six-under 66.
Freshman Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) finished the day two shot behind Guilleux, posting a 75, and is currently tied for 29th. Sophomore Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) is in a tie for 64th after a round of 80. Rounding out the scoring for EMU was sophomore Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) and senior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne), who posted rounds of 81 and 84, respectively.
Playing as an individual, Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-University of Tampa) carded an 80 for a 64th-place tie.
EMU returns to the course for second round action Saturday, March 17. The Eagles will be paired with East Tennessee State University and Troy University with tee time beginning at 9:35 a.m.
