EMU Closes Out SVSU Jets Pizza Invitational Strong

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team closed out the SVSU Jets Pizza Invitational Saturday, Jan. 27, in University Center, Mich.

The day was highlighted by four event titles over both track and field events. Senior Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio-Findlay) started the Eagles off with a first-place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 47.33. Senior Leighton Antonio (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) also had a good day with the sprints crew, placing second in both the 60m and 200m dash.

Freshman Owen Day (Ottawa, Ontario-International School of Dusseldorf) continues to impress in his opening campaign as an Eagle, this time in the 800m, where he took home first with a time of 1:52.36. Senior Mitch Lenneman (River Falls, Wis.-River Falls) put together an impressive mile time of 4:14.03, nearly missing his career mark to take first place in the event.

Senior Cameron Hart (Columbus, Ohio-Bishop Hartley) rounded out the Eagles who notched first-place finishes in their events, once again capturing gold in the high jump, this time with a height of 2.03m.

EMU picks back up Friday, Feb. 2, at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
